Cikira RV, LLC was born on March 1st 2005. A few months earlier, several individuals had met to determine what type of RV product they could produce, utilizing the best of the skills they had to offer. These skills included manufacturing efficiencies, engineering/design, inventory control, sales and marketing. They knew there was a demand for a lightweight, extremely high quality travel trailer that was efficient to build and simple in design. The manufacturing concept behind these travel trailers had to also utilize the most modern manufacturing processes available today. However, the old world tradition of quality fit and finish remains to be one of the design specifications behind this highly successful product and is job one with this particular team.
The building and it’s location was the next critical element that was needed to turn this concept into a reality. After starting out in a small facility in Elkhart, (the RV capital of the world) we moved to a larger 47000 SF facility to accommodate demand and expand our product line. The facility is located in Sturgis, MI just 30 miles east of our original facility and directly aligned with trade routes for suppliers as well as skilled labor. Next, a lengthy supplier qualification process began as vendors were chosen. Finally, the production team was selected. Only the highest quality minded individuals with working experience in the RV industry were asked to join Cikira RV.
The future goals of this company are to understand the demographics of it's dual customer base. The first of these goals is driven by the dealer base which requires delivery of product ready to be sold, ease of repair and availability of parts. However, the drive to satisfy the retail customer is the ultimate goal. Through these motivations, direct customer input via the internet, mail or any other form of communication will create a continuous product improvement attitude in every part of Cikira RV.
